Antartic Expedition.
TOWING THE NIMROD TO THE ICE. CHRISTCHURCH, December 23. Sir Joseph Ward states that it will be impossible to arrange for a Government, steamer to tow the Nimrod to the ice, but the Government is trying to get the Union Company to supply a steamer for the purpose, and it is possible that arrangements will be made for a number of passengers to accompany the expedition as far as the ice.
