LONDON MARKETS.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd, Welington, have received the following cable message from their London House, under date of the 12th inst.: —Butter market firm: The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter, into the United Kingdom for the week ending 7th inst. amounted to 75,000cwt., as compared with 74,0000cwt. for the corresponding week of 1906, showing an increase of l,ooocwt. Finest, 118s; firm owing to Christmas trade. Frozen meat.—Lamb: Prices are steady, but prime quality is scarce. Mutton: Prices are weak, and, if anything, tending downwards. Beef: Hindquarters : Prices are easier. Hides: Lower by per lb. The market is very dull, and there is nothing doing.
