TERRIBLE ATROCITIES.

BY CHINESE TROOPS. CAPTURED REBELS BURNT ALIVE. Received December 12, 9.8 a.m. PORT DARWIN, Dec. 12. Terrible atrocities are reported as having been perpetrated by Chinese Imperial soldiery acting against rebels in the Lienchau and Fonchang districts. Seventy rebels were captured and all were either beheaded or had their ears cut off. Another party of 300 were slaughtered or burnt alive in a cave, whiiher they had retreated. Later details state that the troops were badly beaten oy rebels, and that the insurrection in the Kwangsi pro vince, which began with riots at Lienchau in the summer, is by no means ended.
