The ladder has already been the means of exciting considerable interest in the game, and at present there are no less than four challenges on the notice board, S. R. Gawith having challenged G. G. Aitken for second place, A. R. Sclanders having challenged N. D. Bunting for fourth place, H. W. Rishworth having, challenged D. Caselbfrg fur sixth place, and H. C. Robinson having challenged Dean McKenna for nineteenth place. The present classification will no doubt be very much changed during the course of the next few weeks, as doubtless a large proportion of newlyelected members will be applying to have positions on the ladder allotted to them, and a number of those already classified will gradually find their proper grade in the competition.; Entries for the Club Handicap Singles competition will be received by the secretary up to the close of to-day's play.
