THE MONTE CARLO TRAGEDY.
FURTHER DISCLOSURES. Received September 24, 8.39 a.m. MONTE CARLO, Sept. 23. Barker, a resident of Capmartin (?), informed the magistrate that after a visit from the Goolds his wife missed a pendant worth 300 francs. Later, the pendant was found amongst Mrs Goold's jewels, and she explained that she found it in the street. A rich visitor to Monte Carlo states that two years ago Mrs Goold, finding she (the visitor) was successful as a gambler, and also the possessor of a necklace worth £4,000 forced acquaintance upon her, and strongly urged her to call at the Goolds' flat. The persistence of Mrs Goold and her strange lcoks .frightened the lady, who never called. She now congratulates herself on escaping Mrs Levin's fate.
