WELLINGTON, September 19.
In the House, this afternoon, the Minister of Customs, replying'to Mr G. (Lvttelton), said that instructions had been given to terminate the appointment of the Customs expert on the 30th of June next year.
Respecting the question of the expert's travelling allowances, about which so much was heard a snort time ago, the Premier informed Mr W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, that he i.-itended to have the matter referred to the Commerce Committee next week. Pie did r.ot intend to submit the general question of travelling allowances to the' Committee, as that was a matter for Executive to deal with.
