TROUT FISHING REGULATIONS.

By Telegraph —Press Association. • WELLINGTON, September 2. In reference to the regulations gazetted, last week, limiting the number and weight of trout to be taken in one day, it is pointed out that these regulations are simply the general ones in support of a New Zealand license which enables the holder to fish throughout the country, but these licenses are subject to local regulations where any exist. A holder of a regular license fishing in Wellington or Canterbury waters will have to observe the regulations in force in those districts. It is only in districts where there are no local regulations thatjthe limit of twenty trout or twenty pounds weight, laid down in last week's Gazette, will operate.
