A MISSING MICROPHONE.
GREAT EXCITEMENT AT CHER BOURG. Received September j, 4.3 p.m. LONDON, August 31. Reuter reports that there is great excitement at Cherbourg over the disappearance of one of the microphones moored off the harh'jur, and intended to report the presence of hostile ships in war time. It is thought that a foreign vessel, knowing its position, took the apparatus at night time.
