BALLANCE DAIRY COMPANY.

The twelfth annual report of the Ballance Co-operative Dairy Company is as follows: —"Your Directors have pleasure in again having a satisfactory balance-sheet to submit to •shareholders, and congratulate them on a record season, both as regards price realised and quality manufacture. As was announced at last annual meeting, the season's output was sold ahead, and eventsjiave justified that sale, as prices obtained -have been considerably above the ruling market rates. Advances for . butter-fat were at lid for July and August, lO£d for September and lOd for the remainder of the season aver--aging 10.03 d per lb throughout. The , surplus of £2,656 your Directors propose to distribute as follows:—Write 5 per cent, off for depreciation on properties account; 5 per cent per annum dividend on paid-up capital; 5 per cent, bonus on wages to the staff; - and the remainder to be distributed • among shareholders in proportion to butter-fat supplied. Some 70 tons . more butter have been manufactured than last year, and considerably increased quantities of milk were re--ceived at each station. The quality of our butter has again been good throughout, the Ballance Factory -averaging third, and Konini fifth, in the Government grading at Wellington. In accordance with the rules Messrs McFarlane and Dawson retire from the directorate, but are eligible and offer themselves for reelection. The retiring auditor, Mr F. Aslin, also offers himself for reelection." STATISTICAL TABLE. Year lbs mil'?
