MAKURI DAIRY COMPANY.
The fifth annual report of the Makuri Co-operative Dairy Company is as follows:—"The Directors have pleasure in submitting to shareholders the fifth annual report and bal-ance-sheet. The year's operations show that, by careful management, the amount to debit of profit and loss .account has been reduced by a further hundred pounds. It is a matter for regret that there has again been a most serious diminution in the supply of milk, although the prices paid and realised have been the highest yet. If the supply be not increased during the coming season your Directors will have to consider the question of asking to be relieved of their responsibility of running the factory and creameries. Prospects of fair prices for the coming season appear to be good, which should encourage milkers tofincrease their supply. The retiring Directors are Messrs Tylee and Whitmore, who are eligible for reelection. Mr H. C. Clark has retired and you are asked to appoint someone in his place." Pounds milk received, 2,245,080; lbs butter fat, 81,015; average test, 3.49; lbs butter made, 92,257; average price per lb, 10.90.
