MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report: —We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, tallow, etc., yesterday, offering 60 bales wool, 70 bags wool, 1,500 sheepskins, 200 hides, and a quantity of horsehair, tallow and rabbit skins. There was an excellent attendance of buyers, and the ba;e went olf with excellent spirit, bidding for crutellings and skins being more than usually keen. For good clean lines of crutchings up to 6£d was obtained. Seedy a.d heavy lines, however, were at a discount, realising as low as 4|d. The crutchings generally this year are not in the condition they were last ear—much more showing and many lines being a shade damp. We quote:—Late shorn crossbred 6Jd to 7ftd, good crutchings 6d to 6Jd, medium crutchings 5Jd to sfd, low and inferior 4£d to sd, locks and pieces 3d to s£d. Skins sold at very full rates, better prices being realised than at our last sale, thoughthe market is no better. We quote: —Good crossbred skins 8d to B£d, quarter to half wool skins 7£d to Bd, short wools s£d to 6fd, dead skins 6£d to 7|d, dead hoggets 6fcd to 7Jd, lamb skins 73d to BJd, pelts 4£d to od. Tallow sold at—ln tins 21s 6d, casks 22s 9d per cwt. Hides sold at lower rates in keeping with markets elsewhere. Ox 4£d to sd, cow 4£d to 4£d, cut and damaged hides 3d£ to 4£d. calf skins 6d to 7d, calf skins (cut and inferior) 2d to 4d. The next sale will be held on September 11th. The W.F.C.A., Ltd., and Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, tallow, etc., held yesterday, as follows:—We ofered about 46 bales and 85 bags of wool, 1,150 sheepskins, 200 hides, and sundry parcels of tallow, horsehair, etc. The attendance of buyers was good, but prices on the whole ranged slightly below last month's rates. We quote:—Wool: Crutchings 4«d to 6d, lambs s|d, pieces and locks 3|d, black dingy 3£d, dead 4d to 4Ad, merino 6id. Skins: Crossbred 7fd to Sicl, dead and seedy 6d to 6id, hoggets 7|d, green skins 4s to 5s 9d. Hides: Ox 4gd, cow 4§d, slippy 4d, yearlings calf tkuis GJd to 7d, cut s|d to 6d, bull ~3fd to 4£d, horsehides from 8s 6d to lis. Tallow: Tins, etc., tj 20s per cwt. Horsehair to Is 3d. Rabbit skins 4£d to sd. The next sale will be held 011 Wednesday, September 11th.
