IMPROVING THE KURIPUNI TRIANGLE.

Some time ago the Masterton Borough Council decided to proceed with the work of improving the Kuripuni triangle in the direction of erecting a fence and planting trees and shrubs in the enclosure. Cr W. Morris is taking a keen interest in the matter, and is anxious that something more ornamental than a wooden fence should be erected. His idea is to have a fence built with ferro-concrete posts and base with an ornamental iron railing. In order to obtain funds to assist the Borough Council to carry out that work, he has been making a canvass and has, up" to the present, received the sum of £25 4e. Cr Morris has not yet made an extensive canvass, so he expects to obtain more money for the purpose. He has received subscriptions from the followi. g:—Mr G. S. W. Dalrymple £5 ss, Messrs W. H. Jackson, W. Morris, G. Wyeth, A. Mutrie, W. Lett, D. M. Lett, David Lett, Chas. Hayes, J. Butement, R. Rigg, A. Henderson, J. Whittaker, G. C. Summerell, W. B. Chennells, and Mesdames Marley and J. Cress £1 Is each, Messrs J. Smith, J. G. Mackay, F. Harding, E. G. Frost, Rev. Dean McKenna, and Mrs Milne 10s Gd each. When the fence is erected several local residents have promised to assist in planting the enclosure.
