The Victorian Government states that the conditions of the new mail contract are not satisfactory to the producing interests of the State. THE MAHINAPUA SAFE. Received July 9, 10.33 a.m. HOBART, July 9. The steamer Mahinapua, which is several days overdue on the voyage from Hobart to Strahan, is safe, sheltering at Port Davey. A COLD SNAP. Received July 9, 10.33 a.m. SYDNEY, July 9. Intensely cold weather prevails in New South Wales. .In the country the temperature has fallen as low as lldeg. Fahreneit.

THE ENMORE MURDER. Received July 9, 10.24 a.m. SYDNEY, July 9. Later particulars in connection with the murder of Mrs Macnamara at Enmore show that Mrs Macnamara's residence adjoined a biscuit factory, where her brother-in-law, a man named Lang, was employed as watchman. Lang has been arrested. Two missing brooches were found in his possession, and bloodstains were found on his person.

A MYSTERY CLEARED UP. Received July 9, 10.24 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 9. The robbery from the safe at Temperance hail on June 12th has been cleared up by the confession of Mr Watson, a tru/tee, that he, by the aid of a duplicate key opened and robbed the safe of .£2OO.
