BLACK-PREMYSLAV CONCERT.

Although the attendance at the Black-Premyslav Concert,in the Town Hall, last gevening, was not a hrge one, it was intensely enthusiastic. To say that those present were given a musical treaty is putting it very mildly. It is not to be wondered at that the programme presented was one of rare merit, with two such great artists as Andrew Black and LeopoldJPremyslav. Every item on the programme was r encored, and the artists were cheered. Mr Black is the possessor of a pure, rich baritone voice, of truly {wonderful range, and last evening he was in fine voice. When housings he reaches the hearts of his hearers for his splendid voice has all the charm which has delighted thousands in all parts of the world. His contributions were "Young Dietrich," "Non Priu Andrau," "When Thy Blue Eyes," "Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind," "The Land o'the Leal," and "Blue Bonnets Over the Border." Mr Premyslav won the hearts of the audience directly he appeared on the stage. He is undaubtedly a, master violinist, and plays most elaborate and difficult compositions from memory on an instrument, the tone of which is exquisitely sweet. His execution is remarkable, and yet he plays with the greatest ease without pose for effect. His work on the high notes is a delight and a revelation. His numbers were:-—"Carmen Phantaisie," "Humoresque" (Dvorak), "La Ronde des Lutins" (Brazzini). "Nocturne" (Chopin), and "Ziguenrweisen" (Sarasate). In Miss Bessie Beattie, the company , possesses a most brilliant pianiste. Not only did she accompany of the vocal and violin pieces, f but she executed several numbers, all of which were encored. Miss Rosina Buckmann created a very favourable impression. She has a soprano voice of great range and quality, and was repeatedly encored. "The Flower Song" from Faust "The Rosary" (Nevin), "The Birth of Morn" (Leoni), were among the best of her contributions.
