LONDON MARKETS.

WELLINGTON. June 24,
A cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, June 22nd, states that the mutton market is weak, and there is dull sale for heavy carcases. There is a good demand for prime quality. The average price far Canterbury is 3£d, North Island 3|d. The lamb market is a shade weaker. The stocks on hand are heavy, and widely distributed amongst the agents, who are pushing Sales. A further drop in prices is imminent. Canterbury brands are quoted at s&d, and other than Canterbury at sd. The beef market is very firm for the best quality only. The market is overstocked with inferior quality and depressed for this class. Hindquarters are quoted at 3£d, and fores at 3Jd. The butter market remains firm. Choice New Zealand is bringing 995, Siberian 925, Irish 101s, Danish 109s. The cheese market is quiet, and prices are slightly weaker. New Zealand white is quoted at 635, coloured 625. Canadian supplies are increasing, and new made white from that country is quoted at 60s, coloured 595. The hemp market is firmer. Good, fair grade, on the spot, is quoted at £34, July-Septem-ber shipments £33 10s. The price of fair grade, on the spot, is £29 10s.
