BIG INVESTMENT SWINDLE.
JUDGMENT,FQR £82,7,000. Received June .12, .8.7 a.m. LONDON. .June 11. A Spanish lady .resident in Paris, named Debeistgin, has.obtained judgment against Frank Lacroix Gardner, company promoter, lately in London, for £827.000. Sir Edward Carson, K.C., stated that plaintiff 's secretary and the defendant conspired to gradually procure plaintiff's money on the .pretence of investing it on a basis of division of profits between herself and Gardner. She advanced Gardner £225,359 cash, also £577,078 worth of securities. It was alleged that, besides making entries of smaller sums than he received, defendant drew dividends belonging to plaintiff, making a total of £983,758. She received nothing in return. Mr Rufus Isaacs, K.G., stated that as his client, the .defendant, bad not appeared, and he was unable to call him as a witness, he consented to judgment. Mr Justice ChaKjnell entered .judgment with costs.
