"THE MIDNIGHT WEDDING."
Messrs Meynell and Gunn's company will play a three nights' season in the Town Hall, Masterton, commencing on Thursday next, with "The Midnight Wedding." A contemporary says:—"ln 'The Midnight Wedding' Mr James Lindsay, with his fine stage presence, played with a restraint which was decidedly convincing. He was not the ordinary conventional, unnatural villain, but something that might really exist. Miss May" Congdon made a sympathetic, courageous, and womanly Astrea, and she rose to the occasion every time in the dramatic situations. The other members of the combination, which include Misses Dina Cooper, Amy Singleton, Winifred Gunn, M6ssrs Conway Wingfield, C. R. Stanford, Herbert Leigh, Tom Cannan, Rutland Beckett and Leopold Stach, are all strongly cast. B'or scenic grandeur and military splendor the play is unsurpassed." The box plan will open, thi3 morning, at Miss Rive's.
