FOOTBALL.
The Red Star Club will hold a practice in the Boxing Hall this evening. Members of the Masterton Club will hold gymnasium practice at 7 o'clock on Wednesday evening next, after which an exhibition of boxing will be given by Messrs T. Tracy and Gosling, of Wellington. All footballers are requested to be in attendance, as an effort will be made to procure the services of Mr Tracy to coach local enthusiasts in boxing. Ruahine and Martinborough Juniors played a drawn game at Martinborough on Saturday—no score. On Saturday last Hamua defeated Nireaha by 3 points (a try) to nil. Hukanui won from Konini by default
PROPOSED PROFESSIONAL TEAM. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 20. A motion expressing emphatic disapproval of the proposal to send a professional Rugby football team to England was lost at the meeting of the Otago Rugby Union Committee, to-night, it being decided to ignore the matter altogether.
