THURSDAY SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. ROVER B v. EKETAHUNA. The Rover and Eketahuna senior teams met on the Masterton Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon. In the first spell Rovers had considerably the best of the game, and tries werev scored by Jackson and V. Fairbrother. F. Fairbrother converted Jackson's try. In the second spell Eketahuna livened up and had the Rovers on the defensive, for some time. From a splendid passing rush between Nelson, Page, C. Clark and D. Clark, C. Clark scored under the posts. D. Clark converted. Kovers rallied and took play into Eketahuna territory,where F. Fairbrother kicked a penalty goal, the game endingRover B 11 points. Eketahuna 5. The Eketahuna team were not in form, as this was their first match this season. For Rovers, McKinnon and V. Fairbrother Were the pick of the backs. The forwards were an even lot. Page, for Eketahuna, played the best back game on the ground, and Farrelly also played well. The forwards showed a tendency to over-run the ball. Mr F. O'Connor was referee. ALBION v. LIBERAL. The Liberal seniors defeated the Albion seniors at Greytown, yesterday, by 14 points to nil. Albions only got ten men away, and obtained two substitutes on the ground. S. King and J. Dew were the best of the Albion backs, and W. Hunter was the pick of the forwards, W. Logan and B. Keith being also prominent. The Masterton District High School team and Albion Juniors played a match on the Schoolground, yesterday, the School winning by Bpoints to 6. For the School, Pauling scored a try which was converted by H. Milne, and Milne kicked a penalty goal. Haftka and R. Milne scored for Albions. The following team will represent Red Star Juniors against Carterton, on the Showgrounds, on Saturday next: Flaws, Bannister, J. McHattie, Tankersley, Diggins, Ball, Smith, Kingdon, Galyer, Welch. Hallett, Ross, R. McKenzie, Easthope and Colder. Emergency, Morris. The following is the Carterton team. —Merewood (2), Stove, Oompton, Underbill, Thomas (2), Forman, Gustofsen, Blake, Oats, Offoski (2), Davis, Hodge and Paaske.
