TRAMWAY DISPUTE.

THE QUESTION OF DEPKECIATION. By Telegraph—Press Association.. * AUCKLAND, May 9. When the Arbitration Court resumed, the hearing of the Tramway Company's l'eply to the tramways' workers application for a new award was continued. Mr Chamberlain, engineer for the Christchurch tramways, said too little was allowed for depreciation on the New Zealand tramways. If the right amount was allowed ation, the Christchurch profits would be nil. A safer margin was 6to 7£ per cent., instead of the prevailing 3J. Mr Scott, employers' representative, said he noticed the repudiation of his statements regarding the,, Wellington tramway by the Mayor of Wellington, but he would repeat that when the agreement was brought into force it put £6,000 the running expenses when the system was not paying. He would also repeat that this was done for political purposes.
