RIOTS IN INDIA.
OUTCOME OF A BRITISH TRADE BOYCOTf. Received May 6, 9.15 a.m. CALCUTTA, May 5. The riots at Rawal-Pindi were the outcome of a British trade boycott. Public meetings of Hindus against the British have been held in many towns. Rival meetings of respectable Hindus have also been held. The Moslems dissociate themselves from the agitation. FIVE NATIVE BARRISTERS ARRESTED.
SITUATION BEING CAREFULLY WATCHED.
Received May 7, 1.22 a.m. CALCUTTA. May 6. Five native barristers at Rawal Pindi have been, arrested on a charge of inciting to riot, and with arson and delivering- seditious speeches. Bail was refused. The situation , is being carefully watched. Incitement to violence is rigorously suppressed.
