FOOTBALL.

i;_ ALBION v. ROVER. A Senior team I from the Rover Club (Carterton) played the Albion Senior team on the Masterton Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon. Neither team was fully represented, and consequently the game was not a very interesting one. The Rovers won by 8 points (a goal and a try) to nil. Tries were scored by Morphy and De Lacey, one of which was converted by C. Fairbrotner. The Committee of the Masterton Football Club met in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, last evening. An offer from Mr A. P. Whatman for the use of J the Boxing Hall for football training during the present season was received. The chairman stated on behalf of Mr Whatman that the hall would be placed at the disposal of footballers on condition that certain evenings were set aside for boxing purposes, and it was to bo understood that footballers were to assist Mr Whatman in this direction. It was decided to accept Mr Whatman's very liberal offer, and to arrange a conference with him on Wednesday next for the purpose of arranging details. The secretary reported that as a result of the ballot taken amongst Senior players the medals presented

by I Messrs Henderson and Eliott forj last season were won by R. Spackman and J. O'Leary, respectively. An invitation was received from the Greytown Club to send a team to Greytown, on Saturday, but it was decided to play an A and B match instead and visit Greytown on the following Saturday. The resignations of . E. Prendeville and N. H Dorset were accepted with regret. i The secretary was directed to acknowledge donations to the funds of the Club from Dean McKenna and Mr Albert Jones. Several accounts were passed for payment. It was decided to enter a Senior and Junior team for the Wairarapa Rugby Union's competitions. The following teams have been selected to reperesent the Masterton Club in A and B match, on the Showgrounds, to-morrow:—A: Maokellar, Spackman, Lyall, Jenkins, Gray, Harding, Chapman, Ross (2), Hawke, Hanley, Richards. Jackson, Prow, Holmes, L. Daniell, Selby, Garnett, King, R. Williams. B: Lett (2), Langdon, Narby, MacMahon. D. McKenzie, Bocidington, N. McLachlan, A. Daniell, Dunn, O'Connell, Paul, Duggan, O'Leary, Minett, Meredith, P. Barry, Nicol. ; The following team will represent *• Carterton against Red Stars, at Mas- j terton to-morrow:- Mason, Thompson, Killop, Hall, Groube.
