CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Council of the Masterton Chamber of Com- | merce was held yesterday afternoon. I There were present-Messrs M. I Caselberg (chairman), B. J. Dolan, D. Donald, J. C. Ewington, and EH. Waddington. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. D. Cruickahank, J. B. Keith, J. B. Moodie and W. B. Chennells. The Treasurer reported a cr. balance of £3 16s sd. The Secretary reported that up to the present no petition had been received from the East Coast settlers with regard to the proposal to alter the days of despatch of the Kaitwhata mail from Masterton. The Secretary also stated that the bylaw, asked for by the Chamber of Commerce, with reference to the cartage of refuse in the borough, had not yet Deen passed by the Borough Council, but the matter was being duly considered.
