CHRISTCHURCH, April 19. James Smithers, one of the principals in the Moorehouse Avenue sensation on April sth, appeared at the Magistrate's Court, this morning, before Mr V. G. Day, _ S.M., in answer to a charge of having attempted to murder Nellie Jackson, liie Chiei Detective stated that Mrs jackson was still unlit to attend at the Loiut. The accused, when charged, said: "I don't remember anythihg about it.' He was remanded for one week.
