MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly meeting "of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association ivas held on Saturday afternoon. There were presentMessrs R. Gray (chairman), D. Caselberg, J. C. Cooper, O. C. Cooper, W. Cooper, F. fcC Lewis, J. Mcßae, J. McGregor, J. C. McKillop, J. Morris, J. P. Perry. W.. Perry, B. Rayner, J. Stuckey, and W.. D. Watson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J.D Cruackshank, D. McGregor, junr., T. P. Lett, W: McKenzie, J. B. Muodie, J, Strang and G. C. Summerell. The Finance Committee submitted the financial position of the Association as follows: —Expenditure for month, £1,329 4s 3d; receipts, £271 18s; cr. balance at last meeting, £287 9s 8d; leaving a dr. balance of £769 16s 7d, less cheques outstanding £214 15s lid, leaving a dr. balance in bank of £555 0s Bd. Accounts .amounting to £3B 8s 8d were recommended for payment. The report was adopted. Included in the Ground Committee's report was a letter from the Albion Football Club asking for the use of the Showgrounds on Thursdays and Saturdays during the coming season. It was resolved to ask the club for the amount owing by them for last year and to pay for the use of the grounds on] Easter Monday. In the event of the amounts being received, the Chairman was deputed to deal with the club's application for the use of the grounds. It was resolved to recommend payment of balance of Mr R. Rigg's account, amounting to £3 15s, for shutters supplied to one of the produce sheds. The committee decided to recommend the letting of the grounds for grazing purposess. The report was adopted. The Education Board wrote thanking the Association for the assistance they had rendered in connection with the children's class at the Agricultural Show and in the School Plot Competition. Mrs Meredith wrote thanking the Association for the resolution of sympathy that had been£ passed in connection with her recent bereavement. Consideration of the Ram Fair Committee's report was held over until next meeting. The Auckland A. and P. Association wrote asking the Association to send forward as early as possible the subjects it was desired should be discussed at the forthcoming Agricultural Conference. Messrs W. Perry and D. McGregor, junr., were appointed to frame subjects for discussion.
