JURY LOCKED UP AGAIN
NEW YORK, April 12. 'The jury in the Thaw case wei* um.ble to agree and were again i locked up for the night. The trial has cost the Thaw family ~.£200,000,. and the New York County £20,000. Received April 14, 4.40 p.m. NEW YORK, April 13. .In connection with the Thaw trial .seven of.the jury favoured returning averdict. of murder in the first degree,, and, five were for acquittal on the, ground of insanity. The newspapers, commenting on the result .agree that justice in America has impaired and delayed by i£he>nower of> money and the introduction" tQi' iconfusion and irrelevant issues. jßoedived, April 14, 4.40 p.m. LONDON, April 13. Xfce Times remarks that the trial tevcals .facts ..explaining the strong animosity .that exists towards a certain class .of millionaires, who, knowing nothing of the duties of wealth or the graces often coming in its train, end by seeking to escape from sheer horedom in unrefined excitement.
