DEATH OF A JOCKEY.

' 1 At the inquest on the body of the man whowas picked up at Hastings on Monday night ' and taken to the hospital, where he died, yesterday, the medical evidence was to the' effect that death was caused by a fractpre of the skull. ! A youth who was called as a witness to identify the deceased, said 1 that the deceased's name was George Read, and that he wasi a jockey, who had recently arrived here, and that on Saturday a fight with poles had taken place between the deceased and another man, named Windus. The inquest was adjourned until to-morrow to secure the attendance of Windus.
