RIFLE SHOOTING.

MASTERTON v. TINUI. A match Was fired on the Opaki Range, yesterday afternoon, between the Masterton and Tinui troops of the Masterton Mounted Rifles, and resulted in a win for the Tinui troop by 25 points. The scores were as follow :

FAIRVIEW v. MAURICEVILLE

A match was lired at Mauriceville, yesterday, between the Fairview and Mauriceville Rifle Clubs. The teams consisted of eight men each, and the ranges used were the 200 yards and 300 yards. Rain fell for some time during the match, and this combined with the strong wind that was blowing militated against good scores being registered. The match resulted in a win for Mauriceville by 20 points, the aggregate scores being:— Mauriceville, 489 points: Fairview, 469 points'* The visitors were hospiably entertained at lunch by the home team.
