(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday, March 18. The local school examination is to "be held here to-day, and at Longbush on Tuesday or Wednesday. The children will be examined -by Inspector Fleming. A start has heen made to metal the unfinished portion of the county road between, Mr Hodge's property at Mangahu and Longbush, and when completed there will be a metal road right through to""; Longbush homestead, i - The contractors for the erection, of Mr W. Strang's residence have now nearly finished their contract, and the painting is now being done. The ■work will be out of the contractors' hands in a couple of weeks.
