THE THAW CASE.
Received March 17, 4.42 p.m. NEW YORK, March 16. Abraham H. Hummel, the notorious theatrical lawyer, cross-examined, admitted that he had been convicted of conspiracy, and had been debarred from practising, and that two other indictments for insubordination and perjury were pending against him. A stenographer in Hummel's employ testified that Miss Nesbit (now Mrs Thaw) had signed an affidavit wherein she stated that the confessions obtained in Paris had been extorted.
The case was adjourned till Monday.
