ANOTHER SECESSION REPORTED. Received March 15 ,7.46 a.m. LONDON, March 14. The Times states that the VickersMaxim Company has decided to retire from Messrs Laing and Co.'s mail syndicate. Received March 15, 11.11 p.m. LONDON, March 15. Referring to Mr Clark's statements at Sydney Mr Beardmore says:—"l joined the syndicate on the understanding that the Government guarantee the debentures and withdrew when I found they were not doing so. lam glad the Vickers Maxim Company followed my example." AUCKLAND AS THE PORT OF CALL. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 15. Discussing the Vancouver service, Mr Fowlds said Auckland would no doubt be selected by the contractors as the port of call.
