VIOLENT STORMS.
HEAVY LOSSES BY FLOOD. ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND MEN IDLE. FOURTEEN DEATHS REPORTED. Received March 15, 10.55 p.m. NEW YORK, March 15. Storms of unprecedented violence were experienced in Ohio, Virginia and Kentucky. The rivers rose rapidly, and heavy losses occurred. Much suffering has been caused by the floods. At Pittsburg business is paralysed. All the large manufacturing plants on the river front are closed, and 100,000 men are idle. Fourteen deaths are reported. The damage amounts to a million dollars.
