BROUGH-FLEMMING COMPANY.
The season of the Brough-Flemm-ing Company in Masterton, will commence on Friday flight, when "Dr. Wake's Patient" will be staged in the Town Hall. The Australasian says: —"Dr. Wake's Patient" is one of the few plays that improve on acquaintance. As a bright, powerful, healthy comedy, nothing like it s has been 'seen since "Lord and Lady Algy" was produced,by the Broughs a few years ago.- The dialogue is a model to aspiring playwrights, in being bright and clever./As a reflection of the times in which we live, "Dr. Wake's Patient" isa play that deserves a place in the history of the drama. f Qne of the most charming. bits of acting is that of Miss Beatrice Day as Lady Gerania, the daughter of a thousand generations, who falls in love with a medical man, with nothing but a good heart and money | earned by brains and industry to rei commend him. Mr Carter Pickford i is one of those rarities of the stage— I a good juvenile lead. Mr Gregan I McMahon, Mr, John Forde and Miss [ Emma Temple, provide excellent I humour. Mr Edgar Payne and Miss Bessie Major supply an excellent admixture of comedy and pathos as the parents of Dr. Wake whilst Mrs Brough's Countess of St. Olbyn must stand to her credit as one of the soundest pieces of work she has yet accomplished. The box plan will open at Miss Rive's to-morrow morning.
