The assassination of Count Alexis Ignatieff, took place while he was sitting with other members of the Goanoll of the Empire in a refreshment room. The deed! was committed by a yuatb who fired foar shots at his victim from a revolver. Count Ignatieff's colleagues pursued the assassin, who attempted to commit suicide, bnt was captured.
A Renter message states that Count Ignatieff'e assassin declares that he executed the by the extreme £aHHBaPrBe revolutionary party December, to kill the moot exalted Russian. The Daily Telegraph's St. Petersburg correspondent states that the Zemstvo a* Tver (principal towu of the government of the same name, 275 miles south east of St. Petersburg), hitherto the most Radical in Russia, , recently became Conservative, and eieated' reaction aries like Count Ignatieff. To this charge is attributed the revolutionaries' vengeance.
