NEW YORK, December 24.

The grand jury at Watkins,- a town in New York State, haa refused to indict a man named Frederick Soohey, a banker's eon, on a charge of murdering Prederiok Dickinson, bia wife's admirer. The refusal was based on the "doctrine of Ibe unwritten l*w." Counsel appearing for Harry Thaw, the Pittsburg millionaire, who shot Stanford Wblte, another millionaire, at Madison Square Garden Theatre, New York, on Jane 26th, is preparing a similar defenoe on his client's behalf. It was alleged that -White had persisted in taunting Thaw with hii wife's past.
