DUPING A GAOLER.

BERLIN, December 24,

When two brothers named Will were arrested in Bavaria on a charge of obtaining large sums by false pretences a third brother induced the gaoler to liberate them, promising him a reward of £17,500 and £IOO,OOO a year later on. His representation was that the prisoners were really the Austrian Crown Prince and a brother.

The gaoler has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment. The Wills; who were re-arrested, have been sentenced to long terms.
