in the Licensing Bill an amendment was made exempting olubs from the provision of the principal Act against unlawful games. No youth undur 18 years of age is to be employed in a club with the exonpdon of boys training as waiters. Boarders at clubs are defined a* persons who take meals there from day to day.
FIRE IN A GAOL.
MOBAftT, December 22.
A fire occurred in the women's quarters of the local gaol. *A large number of prisoners were temporarily released, and they energetically helped to suppress the outbreak. The damage is not serous.
