THE PAPAKAIO MURDER.
FINDLAY FOUND NOT GUtLLTY. By Telegraph -Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 20. \tlet a trial lasting two days and a half, John Findlay was, to-day, found not guilty of the murder of William May Bennie, at Papakaio, on October 3rd. On'leaving tbe Court Findlay was re-arrpsted by Detectives Bishop and Ward, charged with that he did on the 26th of September, at Oaniaru, steal a gent's bicycle, valued at £lB 10s, the property of Oates, Lowry and Co. He was at onoe brought before Mr 0. 0. Graham, S. ML, »nd pleaded guilty to the offenoe. Tbe Magistrate took into account that aocuaed bad bees ten weeks in gaol waiting for the trial and sentenced him to 14 days" imprisonment.
