THIRD MAN ARRESTED.

A third man named M'Gee, baa been arrested in oonneotion with tbe attempted robbery at the Toner Hiil mine. It is alleged that Hansen, one of the men arrested, was attempting to draw a loaded revolver when be was overpowered. Browne, who shot Marley as be was attempting ro esoapß, is a son of Koif Boidrewood, tbe author of "Robbery Under Arms."

TROUBLE IN THE NEW HEBRIDES. Reoeived December 20, 9.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, Deo. 20.

Owing to the recurrence of trouble in the New Hebrides tbe Federal Government aßked the Admiral to send a warship to the group. Mr Deakiu says tbe warship left Sydney some dajs ago. A number of raatteis'were referred to tbe Government by some of tbe missionaries and the Government thought action BHGuld be taken.

The supposition is that the trouble is in connection with the repatriation of Queensland kanakas. it is understood the vessel referred to by Mr Deakin is the Prometheus, which left on the 4th inst. for the Now Hebrides, via Noumea.

Received December 20, 10.54 p.m. ; SYDNEY, December 20. The Intelligence Department informed Mr Taylor, the immigrant wbo>rrived here expecting to get a farm on the shares system, and who being disappointed decided to proceed to New Zealand, that unluss . he paid £l6, the value of the concession in paßnage money from London, they would put the law in motion to prevent him leaving for New Zealand.

W. P. Crick appeared before the Pnil Court, today, to show oansa why he should not bo struck off the roll of solicitors. The grounds of the citation was the finding o( the Lands Commission that of the qums of money received by Peter Close, as land agent, their being dealt with by Criok as Minister of Lands, the latter reoeived half. The proceedings against; Crick were initiated on behalf of the Incorporated Law Institute. Messrs G. H. and WalKer appeared for Criok. The latter in an af&davit set out the necessity of a postponement to enable him to prepare a case. He declared he had not. been guilty of any offence against the law of the State. Mr Reid, in a lengthy argument in favour of the postponement, said they asked for an opportunity to bring forward such explanations as would lead the Court i to the conclusion that the finding of the Lands Commission was wrong. The Chief Justice said that the only thing the Court was concerned about, was the finding that Crick had reoeived half of Close's fees. EveutuaHygfcbo postponement was granted till the first aay of the next term.
