The second express from Wellington to Now Plymouth rau into a trap near Norman by, driven by aa elderly man named Willfara Thompson, a farmer. The horse was disemboweled aud the trap smashed. Ihompson was thrown clear on to bia head. The engine driver pulled uppromptly The injured man was taken to Normanby. little hope is entertained for his recovery. Thetrain was further delaytd by a mishap near Inglnwood, and did not reach town till 11.30 o'clock.
