THE SEDDON MEMORIAL.

WELLINGTON, :nov. 22. The Seddon Memorial Executive Committee had aa interview with the Premier this morning. The Premier read a memorandum from the Inspector Genera l practioally condemning the proposal to establish a teohnioal university in Wellington, un the ground that it, would involve an inital cost of about £IOO,OOO. He suggested, instead, that provision be made for the following scholarships:—(l) New Zealand research; (2) higher technical instruction; (3) travelling. These are estimated to ooßt little more than £I,OOO per year. The Committee will meet again to morrow afternoon to consider the memorandum and will nave a further interview with tha Premisr on Monday next.
