BUSINESS EXTENSION.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., in order to meet the growiug requirements of the firm, have had erected for them on Tnorndon Quay, near the Manawatu Railway Station, Wellington, a large new brick store, which was opened for bnsiness yesterday. Hitherto tbe firm has utilised the Harbour Board's sheds for its storage purposes, but with the extension of business it was deemed advisable to make more adequate provision for the storage of wool, skins and hides, etc., and this has now been amply provided for in tbe oommodious structure ou Thorndon Quay, The building, designed by Messrs Oritibton and McKay, has been constructed on up to-date lines, being of two, storeys, fitted with electric hoists, and provided on the upper storey with skylights that are at once of practical utility and attractive in appearance. Provision is made for adding a third floor at any future period. The store, the contract for which was about £5,000 is thoroughly "tied together" with steel and iron girders to render it earthquake proof, and iu this respect the workmanship has been excellent. In future, Messrs Abraham and Williams will hold their skin and hide sales in tne new store, which is certainly a handsome addition to r,he numerous buildings erected on Thorndon Quay during recent times.
