HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph—Preaa Association. WELLINGTON, Nor. 5. The following cable has been received by the Department of Industries and Commerce from the High Commissioner, dated London, November 3rd:— The mutton market is very firm. Canterbury light weight are quoted at i%d, heavy ±%&; North island, light weights, heavy 4J^d. The lamb market is very firm, and auppiies are running short. Canterbury brands sre quoted at 5%d, other tfan Canterbury s^d. The beef, unrket is firm. Hindquarters are quoted at forequarters 3}£d. The butter market is firm, and there is a good demand. Ne* Zealand new season's make, ex Karamea, arrived in good condition. The choicest New Zealand is quoted at 116s, Danish 1235, Siberian 105s per owt. The cheese market is firm, but demand is only moderate. Canadian mafces are quoted at 63s per owt. There is a great demand for hemp, and the market is very strong. G.f.a.q., Wellington, on spot, is quoted at £37; October-December shipments, £36 10s; January-Maroh shipments, £35 10s per ton. Buyers are offering more freely for cooksfoot seed. Bright, olean dressed, 171b seed, is quoted at 44s per owt. The grain market is very quiet. New Zealand long berried wbent, on spot, 5041b5, is quoted at 295; shortberried, 28s 6d; New Zealand Sparrowbill oats, 3841b5, are worth 255; New Zealaud Danish oath, 19s per 320Jbs. New Zealand beans, f.a.q., new crop, are quoted at 34s per 5041b5. There is a quiet market wHh prices slightly weaker. New Zealand Partridge peas ; per 5041b5, are quoted a* 445; blue pens, 365.
