WILLOUGHBY-WARD COMPANY.

"THE MAN FROM MEXICO.'

One of the moat important theatrical events to Maaterton of late years is, the forthoominp visit; of the organisation specially selected for Australae'a, entitled the WillougbbyWard New Lonaon Comedy Company, which includes the famous actress, Miss Grace Palotta, and which will, by special arrangement, come direct from Wellington So play in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, the 13th inafc., and for positively that night only. The famous sucoess, "The Man from Mexico," which has attracted enormous houses iu Australia, is now playing with equal success in Wellington after a brilliant tour through the South Island, "The Man from Mexico," is described as a clever faroial comedy, which revives the popular form of entertainment known in France during the past two centuries as vaudeville, the comic dialogue being interrupted by songs and dances that illuatate the action.' In this connection the new farce is said to be particularly well suited to the three principals —Miss Grace Paiotta, Mr George Willoughby, and Mr Hugh Ward—nil of whom have successfully appeared in coiiac opera. Mr Edwin Geaob, who is direoting the tour, by cancellation ofgother towns, has been able to arrange a quick run through the Wairarapa. A oontemporary 7 says that toe piece is one of the most expensive combinations ever seen in the colony, and from its initial performance in Sydney, to Melbourne, to Adelaide and West to New Zealand, it has been the most triumphant and continued boom ever known. The Wellington Times of yesterday gives a review of their performance, which speaks volumes in its favour. The box plan will open to-day at Miss A. E. Rive's.
