Mr John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, declared that he would willingly confer upon the Ramsey Urban Council power to hire land oompulsorily for allotments in order to Hssist 800 allot-ment-holders dispossessed by Lord Ramsey.

In the House of Lords clause one of the Education Bill was agreed to as amended; the Archbishop of Canterbury reserving the right to. insist that different types of sohoola should be treated in different ways.
