NORTH WAIRARAPA BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
MEETING OP TRUSTEES. The monthly meeting of the Trustees of the North Wairarapa Benevolent Society was held yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs R. T. Holmes (ohairman), J. A. Renall, W. Morris, J. Morris, junr., and Mrs Nioholls. A letter was received from Mr Geo. Willis stating that he had been appointed Secretary of the Wellington and Wairarapa Charitable Aid Board. It was decided to allow one family 15s per week rations, the husband being very seriously ill; also to disoontinue assistance in two cases—one at Kopuaranga and the other at Masterton. The Ohairman stated that be bad authorised the burial of a young woman who had died of scarlet fever in Orioket Street, a» she had no relatives in Masterton, and the aase w,as of great urgency. The Trustees endorsed the action of the Ohairman. • It was decided to grant rations to the extent of 10s per week in a case where the husband bad deserted bis wife and family, /mother case was left in the hands of the Chairman and secretary to deal with. Mr J. G. Hunter wrote regarding extra gravel he had supplied at the Renall Solway Home. It was resolved to pay Mr Hunter for tho additional gravel supplied. The Chairman stated that be had recently visited the Renall Solway Home, ana had fcund everything in a satisfactory condition.
