OTAGO ROAD RAGE.

DUNEDIN, August 26. The Otags sub-test road raae, run on Saturdaj, from Henley Ferry JBridgo to Lovell'a Hat and baok, a distance of miles, was won by the limit man, E. Stratton (15miu) whose actual riding time was 2hr lmin 15aec. Roxburgh (14min), 2br lGseo, was second, and Cockerill, lhr 59min was third. W. Withey (smin), Palmerston South, pat up the fastest time, lhr 55mi,n. and intends to compete in the Timaru race. There were 26 starters. The fast time was accounted for by the road being in splendid order, and the absence of wind. Owiag to the Ohristchurch 'handicapper having somowhut over-estimated the Otago riders' abilities, Withey, and bis brother and (Jarnegie are the only probable starters in the northern race,
