WIDENING OF BENTLEY STREET.
WORK TO BE PROCEEDED WITH.
The Engineer submitted a report on the question of the widening of Bentley atreet to the meeting of the Masterton Boroagh Council last evening. Mr Easthope had informed biio that he was anxious that the) widening in front of his place should be carried out at once, so that be might be able to plant a new line of trees forthwith. Mrs Spaokmttn was anxious to have an answer regarding the shifting of her house at once, as alterations to the house have been kept back pending the Council's decision. Iu both these cases he suggested that if funds were available the work should be carried out forthwith. The Engineer further stated that he thoughl be oould satisfactorily overcome any obstacles in the way of widening the street, and he strongly recommended that the work be carried out. On the motion of Or MoEwen, it was decided that the work of widening the street be proceeded with.
