BOROUGH PARK COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Borough Park Committee was held last evening. There were present: —Ors J. 0. Ewington (chairman), P. W. Temple, T. G. Hoar, W. Morris and J. Elliott. Applications for the ase of the Park for playing matches and practising were received from the W.F.0.A., Raupo aDd St. Patrick's Hockey Clubs. It was decided to allow the W.F.C.A. the use of the praotice ground to practiae in the mornings at a fee of £1 for the season, also to allow the Eaupo and St. Patrick's Clubs the right to play matches on the Oval at a charge of £1 for each Club. If the ground is found to be damaged the Committee reserve the right to terminate the arrangement, and matches are to be arranged to the satisfaction of the custodian, so ae to prevent any clashing of games. The cußtodian was authorised to engage a youth to assist in planting trees and shrubs in the Park for a wec-k or two at a salary not to exioed 30s per week. It was decided to apply to the Truss Lands Trustees for a grant. It was resolved to call the attention of the Council to the fact that the work of levelling the piece of Rround übutting on the Park practice ground, decided upon some time ago, was not yet being done, and to ask the Council to have the work done, at once, as it is delaying the planting of native trees. It was mentioned that two residents have offered to ereot a building on the Park to be used as a tea room, summer house, cloak room and lavatory, if the timber were provided. It was further stated thut the plan of *he proposed building was now being prepared, and the custodian expected donations of material required. The Committee decided to visit the Park on Thursday, at 2.30 p.m., to see to a number of matters that require attention.
