WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Meraantile Agenoy Co., Ltd., report:— At sour usual sale on Friday we offered and sold a catalogue of about 25 balea wool, 2,000 skins and a quantity of hides and tallow. Prices were firm at late rates. We quote: —Wool: Crossbred ooarse stragglers 9d to lOd, merino to 10% d, merino pieces and bellies 7)£d to B%d, orutohings (fine) B%d to 9d, eiossbred 8d to seedy to 7%d, crossbred looks and pieces sj|dtoi7}£d. Sheepskins: Halfbred and merino 9%d lo crossbred (fine) 9%d to 10J£d, orossbred (ooarse) 9>£d to 9%d, shortwoollod crossbred B}£d to 9}£d, broken and dead 6d »to B%d, lambß from to lCJ£d, green skins fiom 6s 6d to 8s 3d, lambs 5s 6d to 6s 6d. Hides: Sound ox and cow s>£dtos%d, damaged 3}£d to sd. Tallow: In casks 21s to 22s 3d, in tins from 15s 6d to 18s 6d per owt. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—We offered on Friday 35 bales wool, 1,700 skins, 350 hides, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Prices for wool remained steady. Crutohinge are coming forward more freely and sell at high prices. We quote:— Ooarse orossbred, Q%A to 10% d; inferior and iogfltained, B>£dto9*£d; pieces and bellies, 7d to 7%d; looks, 3d to sd; crutnhings, superior, B>£d to orutohings, good, 7d to B>£d; orutohings, seedy and inferior, s>£d to 5%d. Skins—There is no change to record, all lots selling at full rates. We quote:—Merinos, 9d to o)<jd; fine cross bred s, 9d to 10% d; coarse, 9d to lOd; dead skins, 8d to BJ£d; short wools to 9J£d; woolly skins, green, 7s to 9s; woolly lamb skins, green, ss6d to6s6d; lambs pelts, 3s to 4s sd. TallowCasks 225, tins 17s 3d,, sacks 13s 9d. Horsehair —ls 6d to 2s per lb. Horns—7s to 19s 3d per 100, HidesWere easier and fell on sight. Ox Aides to 5%d per lb, cow hides sJ£d to 5%d per lb, cut and slippy hides 4d to 5d per lb., calfskins, 5d to 6%d per lb. The next sale will be held on June 23rd, 1906.

LONDON MARKET ADVICES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received tbe following cables from London, under date of tbe 7th instant : Frozen Meat: Aotive demand for lamb, and market flrm. Poor demandffor mutton, but any change in prices is in favour of sellers. Poor demand for beef, and tbe market for forequarters i 9 unfavourably affected, owing to the prolonged warm weather. Prices are, however, a shade firmer. We quote: —New Zealand crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy 4%d, light 4%d; North Island lamb, heavy 4d, light New Zealand prime crossbred r'utton, Canterbury, heavy 35£ d, light 3%d; North Island mutton, heavy 3%d, light 3%d. Prime ox beef, fores 2%d, hinds 3^d. Butter: Market firm—better for distant than spot. Tb« Copenhagen official quotation is higher by two kronera (about 2s 3d) per owt. The total importH of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 2nd instant amounted to 79,000 owt, as compared with 57,000 cwt. for tbe corresponding ■week of 1905.
